Superman , the first comic book "superhero", is 75 years old this month. There's a lot of competition from others superheroes, but superman is still number one...
AN AMERICAN HERO:
In 1938, superman appared in the first issue of action comics. At that time, economy was bad in the USA and Americans needed Heroes to give them hope.
Superman was perfect: he fought corruption and poverty in metropolis. Suyperman wal also an immigrant, just like many Americans at the time. Like them, he wanted succeed in the USA... so he had lots in common with theme!
