The big films of 2013

From the next " Hunger Games" to Brad Pitt fighting zombies, Today's Rupert Morgan presents the big filma of the year. So sit back with some popcorn and enjou your 2013 movie guide...

A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD

Do you think Bruce Willis is too old to be in an action movie? 20th Century Fox seems to think so because in this fifth Die Hard movie, we meet his son (played by Jai Courtney). The plot? John McClane ( Willis) travels to Russia to see his son who, unknown to hin, is a CIA operative. Before long, they have Russian gangesters trying to kill them and a nuclear war to avert. A typical Die Hard day, in other words. 

BEAUTIFUL CREATURES

Now that Harry Potter and Twilight have vinished, Warner Bros hopes to recreate their magic with this film based on a bestselling novel about a girl with supernatural powers. When 15-year-old Lena (Alice Englert) arrives in a small South Carolina town, everyone notices something strange about her. Buy only Ethan, a boy her age, undertstands what she is - a Caster, a being with magical powers that might get taken by the dark side on her 16th birthday. Surely he can't let that happen, can he?

THE HOST

Based on a novel by Twilight author Stephenie Meyer, The Host abandons vampire and werewolf love triangles and concentrates on alien invasion. Invisible aliens have invaded the planet, taking control of humans but leaving their bodes unchanged. Melanie (Saorsie Ronan) is one of the last free humans, but she is captured and her body invaded by an alien named Wanda. Despite Wanda's efforts, Melanie refuses to cede control of her body. The two finally become allies and go in search of the masn they both love. Oh dear, sounds like another Meyer love triangle. 

OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL

Aprequel to the classic film The Wizafrd of Oz, this is the sotry of a carnival illusionist who is transported to the fanastical land of Oz. There, he meets three witches with real magical powers. If he wants to survive, he has to convince them that he is also a great magician.

A star family

Britain's favourite family, the Beckhams, are now in Paris. David and Victoria are famous for sport, music and fashion, but their kids have talents too. Here is their story...

Britain loves David Beckham. 

He is a famous football player who has played for the world's biggest clubs including Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan and now Paris Saint Germain. He also played for his country, England, for a record 115 games and scored 17 times. David is married to Victoria  Beckham who was a singer in the successful girl group from 1990s: the Spice Girls. 

Her nickname was Posh Spice!

Everyone watched when David and Victoria got married in 1999. The wedding was in a caste in Ireland and was inspired by fairytales. The couple had thrones, just like a king and queen, and they sold the photos for one million pounds.

Children are precious in the Beckham family. Victoria had the couple's first child, Brooklyn in 1999. They have had two more sons, Romeo, age 11, and Cruz, age 8, and also a daughter, Harpere Seven, who was born in 2011.

King and Queen of style are what the press call David and Victoria Beckham. In 2008, David became a top model for an Italian label, and has made lots of adverts...often in his underpants! Victoria has become a big name in fashion too: stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Charlize Theron love her creations and wore her dresses at the Oscars. 

Hollywood has been home for the Beckham family since 2007. David went to play for the club La Galaxy and when they arrived, they became friends with stars like Tom Cruise. Now they have 16 million euro house in an exclusive are of Beverly Hills. The couple's estimated fortune is 220 million euros! 

Ambassador for Unicef is one of David's jobs. He and Victoria work with AIDS charities and support children in Africa. When David moved to Paris Sain Germain in 2013, he decided to give all of his wages to a children's charit. 

Mum and dad are great exemples for Beckham children. This year Romeo became a model for a big British fashion label. Brooklyn also had a trial for the youth team at Chelsea football club. So the question is, will the new generation of Beckhams be famous for sport or fashion? If they have their parents' talents, they can do it all!

Happy Birthday Superman

Superman , the first comic book "superhero", is 75 years old this month. There's a lot of competition from others superheroes, but superman is still number one...

AN AMERICAN HERO:

In 1938, superman appared in the first issue of action comics. At that time, economy was bad in the USA and Americans needed Heroes to give them hope.
Superman was perfect: he fought corruption and poverty in metropolis. Suyperman wal also an immigrant, just like many Americans at the time. Like them, he wanted succeed in the USA... so  he had lots in common with theme!

Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys is famous for her pop songs, but did you know she is also an excellent classical pianist? Her first album was a big success and made her the best-selling R&B artist of 2001. Her new album is doing well too. Alicia says the wants it to inspire her female fans. You might know the songs ''Girl on Fire'' and ''Brand New Me''. Do they inspire you?

Bruno Mars

2012 was a busy year for Bruno Mars. The singer from Hawaii became an internacional star and played concerts around the world. Bruno released this first album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, in 2010. Bruno is a talented musician: he grew up in a musical family and plays drums guitar, keyboard, bass, piano and harmonica. His second album, Unorthodox Jukebox, is sure to be a hit!

David Guetta

David Guetta always wanted to mix music. At age 13, the French teenager mixed his firts albums at home, and at 14 he started organizing parties in his home. He thought: ''I want to be a DJ- I don't need to be good at Maths!''

In 1984, at only age 17, David got a job as a DJ in a club in Paris. He soon got a repution for begin a good DJ with a talent for mixing music.

This “Bootmobile” is travelling around the USA to celebrate the 100^th anniversary of a famous clothes company, L.L.Bean.the company specializes in outdoor clothing, especially boots. Maybe one day will be famous like other American products.

Today, when you visit Bodie, you go back in time. The streets are abandonned, and inside of the houses look exactly as the did 60 years ago. It's difficult to imagine that Bodie a rich town with a population of 10,000people.

Gold, gold, gold:

 

Bodie had many gold mines and the town boomed from 1877 to 1880. The mines produced gold with a value of 34 millions dollars!
